Kids Helping Kids

Kids Helping Kids provides opportunities for the youth of the Pierre/Ft. Pierre area to engage in healthy and safe out of school activities. Please contact Kristie Maher  at the SD Discovery Center 224-8295 for more information.

Update: 4/2017 – We regret that scholarship requests are currently not being accepted due to funding limitations. We do anticipate future funding being available, depending on the outcome of fundraisers.

Kids Helping Kids will provide scholarships of up to $50 per youth per year so that kids can participate in after school or extra curricular activities. Scholarships are mailed directly to the sponsoring organization or vendor. Available on a first come, first served basis. Scholarship Form (PDF format, requires Adobe Reader)

Kids Helping Kids, in cooperation with the SD Discovery Center, organizes summer camps.

Board members:

Are you a kid that wants to help other kids in your community? You are invited to serve on the board of Kids Helping Kids. You will help other kids in your community and learn important lessons about how to be a community leader. Please call Kristie at 224-8295 to find out the next meeting. (Adults, we could use your help too!)

Kids Helping Kids is an outreach of the SD Discovery Center, Capital Area Counseling Center (Youth Assessment and Assistance Program) and the Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth Committee, with funding from the Turner Foundation.
