LEGO League/FIRST Robotics
The information below is for the 2026-2027 season. Contact Raegan Kleinpeter if you are interested in next season.
Welcome to our South Dakota Discovery Center FIRST Robotics LEGO League Team! FIRST Robotics LEGO League is a competitive robotics program. We build robots out of Lego technic pieces and code them to compete in 3 minute rounds to score points. The team also does a research project on problems within the season's theme and creates a solution based on information and experimentation of prototypes. Our team is made up of 10 kids ranging in age from 9 to 14 and we travel to tournaments in Rapid City and Sioux Falls.
If your child hasn’t already registered, please visit our 2026 SDDC FIRST Robotics LEGO League Team Member Registration page. There are a 10 spots available max so please remember to register.
Every Monday and Friday, 5:30pm-7:30pm there is coach-led team practice. Open independent practices are monitored by SDDC staff, occurring every Wednesday, 3:00pm-5:00pm.
