We offer FREE star shows with regular admission the second Saturday of every month from 11am-1pm. These 25-minute shows will reveal the night sky in a way you have never seen before.

Meet a Scientist
Mess about with science and learn about stunning innovations and the joy of science discovery from experts! Twice a year, our visitors have the opportunity to interact with experts from all over South Dakota. Our experts are scientists, researchers, and other STEM professionals who have successfully completed our Science Communication Fellowship and have been certified through Portal to the Public as current science ambassadors and excellent science communicators.

Summer Science Shows
Get ready for a summer packed with curiosity, discovery, and a little bit of chaos! This summer, we're introducing brand-new Summer STEM Shows FREE with admission and trust us, you won't want to miss them.
Join STEM Educator Ms. Kris for 30 minutes of live science fun, followed by a 30-minute hands-on activity where kids get to dive in and explore for themselves. With four showtimes each day, there's a time that works for every family
Show Times:
- 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
- 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM (Show time reserved for family visitors (no large groups)
- 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
- 3:00 - 4:00 PM

The Deadliest Predator: 6/2, 6/4, 7/7, 7/9
Description: There is a predator so deadly that it almost never lets its prey escape, and it's closer than you think. No amount of venom or sharp teeth can match this predator. Come learn about this creature that may be living in your own backyard.
Crash Test: 6/9, 6/11, 7/14, 7/16
Description: There are forces all around us. When we move at very fast speeds, these forces can cause a lot of damage. The vehicles you ride in every day are designed to keep you safe from these forces. Let's explore the forces around us and how we can use our knowledge to keep our precious cargo safe.
Critters of the Prairie: 6/16, 6/18, 7/21, 7/23
Description: The prairies are alive. Some have fur, some have feathers, some have scales. Many live by burrowing deep beneath the surface, and some soar through the sky. Come explore the critters and creatures that call the prairies home.
Hidden No More: 6/23, 6/25, 7/28, 7/30
What is invisible, but makes things visible? Discover the hidden world of light. Through understanding light we can learn so much about our world and beyond. Join us for a VR experience that makes the hidden, hidden no more.
Moon Movie Mondays
Join movie screenings in our portable planetarium; free with admission thanks to the Pierre-Fort Pierre Kiwanis Club! Stop in for one, or catch a triple feature screening of space exploration! From the cosmic history of Orion and Artemis as stellar objects, to unmanned rovers on the Martian surface, delve deep into different aspects of NASA's Artemis project.
