NASA and GLOBE have released GLOBE Observer, a citizen science app. You are invited to participate in a crowd sourced documentation of the Earth’s clouds, from the ground!

Available in both iOS and Android, this app collects observations that will be used by students from around the world to do research as well as by scientists to ground truth satellite data.

Want to brush on the difference cumulus and stratus? The South Dakota Discovery Center will have staff available for support and to answer questions on Friday September 29 from 1pm – 5pm and on Saturday October 1 from 10am – 12pm.  Free cloud charts will be available.

Until then, you can review the Cloud Training resources provided by GLOBE.
